There are eleven 30-minute slots available over the two days at EHI Live 2010 for organisations to host case study presentations.  This opportunity is free to participate in and is open to healthcare organisations and stakeholders with a successful or ground breaking IT project.  All sessions will be publicised within the pre-event promotion and also be listed within the conference programme and show guide literature at the event.

Call for Proposals

Who is eligible to join in?
Case studies are not restricted to any particular sector of healthcare. In fact, one of the aims will be to bring together examples of best practice in healthcare informatics from a broad range of sources including the NHS; the independent sector; acute, community, primary and mental health care; ambulance and out-of-hours services and the interface of health and social care.

What sorts of case studies are likely to be chosen?
As described above, the best practice showcase will aim to include presentations from a wide variety of settings so don’t assume your organisation has to be large or famous to qualify. The idea is to describe and, if possible, demonstrate what you are doing and offer it as an example to the audience to create interest, provoke a little professional debate or inspire action.

Who will the audience be?
NHS, social services and independent healthcare sector directors and heads of IT; healthcare systems managers; healthcare IT project managers; healthcare IT vendors; IT consultants with an interest in healthcare interoperability; anyone with an interest in healthcare interoperability standards; health policy makers looking at change involving clinical information sharing; healthcare managers, trust directors and professionals responsible for clinical information governance.

Can presenters bring along consultants and suppliers they have worked with?
Broadly, case studies must focus on the work of a healthcare organisation and be presented by a senior member (or members) of that organisation’s team. If suppliers and consultants are invited their role should be a supporting rather than a leading one.
